Garden Sickle

The garden sickle is a magnificent tool for harvesting a range of plants. From bunching lavender, to gathering herbs with one swipe. It is very handy to make short work of cutting herbs, rather than using snips or secateurs, and has more control than using hedge shears.

Gather herbs in one hand. Swipe/cut (under your hand carefully) with sickle. Tie the ready made bunch with elastic, or throw the bunch into a bucket, depending on your purpose. If bunched, herbs can be taken inside and cut with ease, using our garden snips.

The sickle is also useful for weeding. Perhaps a prickly weed you don't want to handle. You can hook the sickle at the base of the weed or dig into the soil and get at the roots to pull the weed out.

Look after your sickle by wiping clean after use. It can also be sharpened on occasion using our sharpening stone.
